We met my brother and his family in Island Park a few weeks ago. We had a great time. We spent some time fishing, eating, playing in the lakes and streams, and making memories. We love this area. It's beautiful and we feel at home here!
We went to a small "rodeo" and chuck wagon dinner the last night. It poured rain for about 30 mins after we arrived. Thankfully, there was a little shelter everyone could stand under, but we all got cold and wet. It was absolutely beautiful scenery though. Located behind Henry's Lake, nestled into the base of the mountains. They hold a youth camp there all summer and the kids participated in the events. Our favorite...chasing the ribbon cow :) Kade was brave enough to enter the arena that was muddy and packed with kids older than him. They let out the calf and he goes high stepping through the mud chasing after the cow. The video was too dark to see but it was so cute!! He tried SO hard and he was inches away from winning, when an older girl snatched it off the cow. He was totally distraught and kept saying "But I didn't win!". Yeah, but you were a little stud!
The food was dutch oven and totally delish!
We ended the trip with a quick trip into Bozeman for dad to do a little work, and mom and the kids to have a little fun:)
